MEGA-BOND®
Restraint Coating System
EBAA Iron Inc., introduces MEGA-BOND,
a revolutionary coating system for our joint restraints
for Ductile Iron and PVC piping systems.
This innovative coating system combines a "fastener
class" Xylan® fluoropolymer coating to the wedge
and wedge assembly, and a "specially formulated"
powder coating to the restraint body. The resulting system
offers the excellent corrosion resistance typical of an
epoxy, while actually improving performance in both impact
and weathering resistance.
This dual process provides a low-build polymer coating
on threaded parts which protects and enhances ease-of-assembly,
and gives larger parts the corrosion protection they need
and the impact resistance to keep the coating intact.
All of this comes as an aesthetically pleasing and identifiable
product. EBAA's Black Rings with Blue Nuts, Bolts, and
Wedges for Ductile Iron Pipe and Red Rings with Blue Nuts,
Bolts and Wedges for PVC Pipe indicate to the engineer,
the installer and the inspector that they have the right
product and it is being used in the right application.
